The California Conservation Corps is a workforce development program that offers young men and women the chance to serve their state and become employable citizens through life skills training and hard work in environmental conservation, fire protection, and emergency response.

The CCC has both residential and non-residential programs and centers. The Corps is a department within the state Resources Agency, and is not affiliated with any state or county correctional system.

The California Conservation Corps helps improve the lives – and prospects – of thousands of 18-25 year old Californians every year. In the process, the CCC improves the ecology of California’s lands and rivers and contributes to the state’s public safety.

Click here to find out more about the Backcountry programBackcountry Trails :  The ultimate personal transformation can happen to anyone who joins the CCC for a summer of trail building and environmental conservation work in the Backcountry program. Spend five and a half months with the CCC in California's breathtaking wilderness, and you'll see that the change is forever. Working in 15-person crews in such places as the Shasta-Trinity National Forest and Yosemite National Park, Corpsmembers from all walks of life bond together and gain invaluable lessons in teamwork, self-discipline, and confidence. If you are into nature, hiking, camping, or want to get in the best shape of your life, then the CCC's Backcountry program is for you.
Click here to find out more...Emergency Services:   If you want to work in the fast paced world of emergency services, the CCC is a great way to get in shape, learn the basics, and find out about job opportunities around California. Corpsmembers have provided millions of hours of dedicated work in just about every large emergency in the last 30 years including fires, floods, oil spills, earthquakes and a host of agricultural catastrophes. The CCC has performed countless search and rescue operations and staffs public assistance centers during large-scale disasters.

The CCC is a uniformed service with a rank structure that operates team-based crews of 12-20 Corpsmembers. Corpsmembers can receive training in Flood Fighting Techniques, CPR & First Aid, HAZMAT Limited Task Worker, Camp Support, Fire Suppression, Tool Use & Safety Training, Oil Spill Cleanup, Scaffolding, and Power Actuated Tool Use.
