The San Diego Center challenges their corpsmembers with various amounts of projects that range from trail construction, fire hazard reduction, tree removal, and heavy equipment operation. In addition, San Diego offers their corpsmembers internships with Cal-Trans, and the City of Coronado. Responding to several emergencies each year, The motto “Hard Work, Low Pay, Miserable Conditions and more” is a motto San Diego corpsmembers have come to live and breathe every day!
Special Programs
After the fire storms, the CCC San Diego in Partnership with Work Force Partnership / Dept. Of Labor, CCC San Diego began the NEG Program. This Program employs persons ages 18 and over, for a period up to six months or 12 k. In collaboration with San Diego County and The City of San Diego, these employees perform fire rehabilitation projects in various areas throughout the county of San Diego that were severely affected by the fires.
