As of 2004, the CCC has amassed a considerable record of accomplishments since it was created in 1976.
Here are a few current statistics about the program:
- More than 95,000 corpsmembers since 1976, now with some "second-generation" corpsmembers whose parents were in the CCC. 3500 young men and women hired annually.
- 54 million hours of natural resource work throughout the state.
- 8 million hours of emergency response – floods, fires, earthquakes, oil spills, agricultural pests and more.
- Nearly 1,800 miles of streams and estuaries enhanced or restored to improve salmon and steelhead habitat.
- 6,402 miles of trails constructed by Backcountry trails crews in Yosemite and other parks and wilderness areas.
- 3.2 million trees grown by the CCC's Native Plant Nursery.
- More than 11 million hours of work improving rural and urban parks and recreation areas.
- More than two decades of energy conservation work.
